We want to thank you
for taking the time out to learn more about us. We are a family owned
and operated kennel located in the only country part of Miami, FL.
You'll notice that the True American Bulldog lovers have a story about how
they began loving them, well here's ours:
How we
began :
Our love for the
American Bulldog began over 10 years ago. My husband Steve introduced me
to the American Bulldog breed. He had researched the breed for a long
while and thrived to have one. We discussed it for many months. For us, the
decision was like making the decision to have a baby! We bought our first
American Bulldog in 1997. A female we named Brindle Lynn Tonka Toy AKA
Brenda. Brenda was shipped a
long way in, from Arizona. After a very scary plane ride, we picked up
our puppy. It was love at first site. Even though she was massive in size,
she was a baby at heart. I have never been loved more by any other breed
of dog. She always put a smile on my face when I saw her. ---- My life stopped when she past away suddenly.
The death of our beloved Brenda was a very difficult time for our family.
I vowed to never own another dog again. She was my life and could never be
replaced! After a long grieving period, (4 years!) , we decided it was
time for another puppy. Of course, this had to be another American
Bulldog. My husband and I spent about a year researching the breeders and
kennels. We found a breeder, A & B kennels where we saw a breeding
getting ready to take place. After speaking with Velda Bolten and seeing
these two beautiful dogs CH REBEL ROUSER #33 and BOLTON'S LUCKY DIXIE LEE,
we were sold! I personally fell in love with Dixie Lee. She is an
absolute beautiful dog! My husband
and I discussed which one of the little Pups we were going to take. The
decision was very hard, since I love American Bulldogs that are mostly
white and he loves ones with the red brindle patches. He won this choice,
and a few months later we took a drive to GA to pick
up our little guy, Peterbuilt AKA Little Pete. Again, it was love at first
site!! Having Pete made us want more of him to go around. We decided to
purchase another American Bulldog. Again, the choice was difficult.
After speaking To Velda Bolten from A & B kennels,
we found out that she still had puppies from the same breeding as Little
Pete. And, she had a male who was all white!! We picked up our
other little Guy a few weeks later, we soon named Gutter Joe. He is the
love of my life (don't tell my husband!).
Why we breed:
Because we believe that the American Bulldog is the best of breeds, we
started our kennel. We wanted to share this absolute wonderful
breed with everyone. American Bulldogs are known for their love of human
contact, working ability, loyalty and their affection. Our dogs work for us, protect us, love us and are one of the
family!
They are treated with
the utmost respect and given more love then sometimes is possible. Here at
Absolute American Bulldogs, our goal is to produce the best possible
Johnson Type American Bulldog we can. We strive for an absolute
great temperament, high drive and spirit, strong loyalty, love for
companionship, gentleness, and the ability to protect when needed.
Who
we are:
We
do not own a "Farm" of dogs, we have an average of 15
dogs. We believe that one on one attention is very important for our
dogs, therefore we have this number of dogs so that we can be
assured that each dog is well cared for and loved. We will never
have 50,60,70 dogs that many kennels have. As that would only prove
that it is about the money and not about the dog. Financially it is
very hard to care for the number of dogs we have, In order to see a
profit we would need another 15 dogs. But for us it IS NOT about
money. We breed to better the breed, we breed for the ultimate AB.
All of our sales, proceeds go back into our dogs. We improve their
kennels, we buy exercise equipment, we buy them bones and treats
(many kennels will not put any additional money on their dogs, as
more money means no profit).
Thank you's:
Many thanks go to Velda Bolten, for being patient with us for calling her with our ever so
many questions and for referring us to other breeders who have the same
passion as us. Also thanks must go to Colby and Julie Martin of County
Line Kennels , for showing us his absolute awesome ways on how to
care for a kennel and for making my sons birthday present come true (Thank
You for our Lady Lexi and Maximus), And Roy New for letting us purchase his
beauties, Rebel Dawn and Baby Girl Kayla.
And Last but not
least, thank you Mike of Ruff Diamond American Bulldogs for such wonderful
dogs and if it weren't
for his help, you would not be able to read this right now.
And most of all, we
can not forget our first American Bulldog, Brenda. For she is the sole
inspiration of what we are today,
Absolute American
Bulldogs.
Please feel free to
call or email us with any questions you may have.
Thank you,
